About meLike many quilters, I began by making traditional bed quilts, but gradually shifted to making more abstract wall pieces. I’ve always been fascinated by the ancient past, mythology and archaeology, and this often provides starting points for my work. Recently I’ve also been making pieces inspired by folk arts, with vibrant colour and fantastic birds and flowers.
I’ve taught patchwork and quilting for many years, including City & Guilds. I now prefer to teach friendly one-off workshops. I have exhibited widely, here in the UK, and in Europe and America. My work has won awards, and is in private and national collections. I have belonged to two exhibiting groups, Sisters' Choice and Cwilt Cymru, showing our work in various galleries and museums. I give talks to groups of all kinds, and teach some workshops. I’m a qualified quilt judge, and have judged at large and small quilt shows. I’m an active member of The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles, of Contemporary Quilt, and of CQWest. I live in Bristol and am happy to travel to teach or give talks. I am experimenting with giving talks via Zoom. |
